Who We Are
On October 27, 1957, Eighth Street Christian Church sponsored the organization of Hooker Memorial Christian Church. The Church is named for the Hooker Family in recognition of their faithful service and generous contributions.
The church campus consists of a Sanctuary (1961), an Education Building (1961), and a Fellowship Hall (1970).
In 1991 we began a ministry partnership with Easter Seals UCP of Greenville and have leased a portion of our property to them for their center. (nc.eastersealsucp.com)
In 2009 we stepped out in faith and partnership with Pitt County Young Life whose offices are located in our Education Building. (pittcounty.younglife.org/)
We continue to make use of our property and facilities for various missions and organizations in the Greenville area and are always open to step out in faith with new opportunities for Mission and Service.
We have active fellowship groups for all ages at H.M.C.C. Our Women’s group meets on the 1st Sunday of each month. The 2nd Sunday of each month, our Men’s group meets following the worship service. The 3rd Sunday Lunch meets the 3rd Sunday of each month, immediately following Worship, for a covered dish lunch and fellowship. We also have various opportunities for our Youth in partnership with other Disciples Churches in Greenville.
